The 3 Steps of our Mobile Analytics Process Explained.

1. Visitor requests mobile or desktop web page from your Web server.

2. Web server returns page to visitor.

Behind the scenes: A server-side code snippet assembles a URL which contains all the data PercentMobile needs for tracking. The URL is invoked on your page template via a dynamic JavaScript image in case of the iPhone or as an inline embedded image tag for all other devices.*

3. PercentMobile tracks, processes, and reports on the mobile traffic to your site.

* Notes: Nothing can happen during the assemblage of the URL that will cause a page rendering error. What can happen is that the image is slow to load due to general network latency or busy load balancers/web servers on our side (they have standard timeout). This however will have no effect on the page rendering since web browsers assemble all images in parallel threads to prevent a single image blocking page compilation. In short: the worst thing that can happen is that in your browser bottom status bar you see a message like "Waiting for percentmobile... to respond". Please let us know if you need more information.
